Nikki Butts

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Nikki is an expert strategist, researcher, and analyst with a proven track record of helping schools reach their strategic goals and enrollment potential by asking the right questions, conducting research and analysis, and turning insights into results-oriented actions.

Prior to joining MehtaCognition, Nikki served as Assistant Head of School for Advancement at The Children’s School (TCS), where she oversaw enrollment management, marketing and communications, development, and parent engagement. Nikki also led strategic priorities with the Board to optimize TCS’s enrollment, market positioning, and pricing strategy.

As the former Director of Admission at Hillbrook School in Silicon Valley, she led and achieved the school’s strategic plan to increase enrollment, with targeted growth in the middle school. Under Nikki’s leadership, the school enjoyed significant growth in inquiries, Open House attendance, applications, yield, enrollment, diversity, and retention.

Nikki also brings expertise and perspective beyond the independent school industry, with a robust consulting career helping clients identify growth opportunities in changing marketplaces.

Nikki has directed research to set and achieve business priorities, build strategic advantages, launch new products, focus branding (and re-branding) efforts and more across a range of nonprofit and for-profit industries, with clients including The Washington Post, Yahoo, OfficeMax, Calvert Homeschool, and more. She has experience leading projects of all scopes and sizes that intersect and integrate across departments and fit within existing initiatives, priorities, and budgets while providing clarity and guidance moving forward.

Nikki’s research is published in academic journals, industry white papers, and books and articles geared for all audiences. Nikki is also a proud independent school alumna and parent.
